Diversification
Diversification means not putting all your eggs in one basket — spreading money across many investments so that no single company's disaster can sink you. When one holding stumbles, the others keep you afloat. It's the only free lunch in investing: less risk without necessarily accepting lower returns.
Example: Own 500 stocks instead of one, and a single bankruptcy costs you 0.2% of your money instead of 100%.
