IRA

An IRA (Individual Retirement Account) is a tax-advantaged retirement account you open yourself — no employer needed. For 2026 you can contribute up to $7,500 across your IRAs. The Traditional flavor gives you a tax break now; the Roth flavor gives you tax-free withdrawals later.

Example: Put $7,500 into a Traditional IRA in the 22% bracket and you shave about $1,650 off this year's tax bill.
